Data controller

The data controller is Advice That SRL, a Belgian company. Registered office: Rue Delwart 149, 1070 Brussels. CBE: 0728.534.930. Brussels Governance Monitor is a project hosted by this company.

Data collected

We only collect data strictly necessary for the email alert service:

  • Email address (for sending weekly digests)
  • Chosen topics (to personalise alert content)
  • Preferred language (to send emails in the correct language)

Legal basis

The processing of your data is based on your explicit consent (Article 6.1.a of the GDPR). You may withdraw this consent at any time.

Data retention

Your data is retained as long as your subscription is active. Upon unsubscription, your data is deleted within 30 days.

Your rights

Under the GDPR, you have the following rights:

  • Right of access: obtain a copy of your personal data
  • Right to rectification: correct inaccurate data
  • Right to erasure: request deletion of your data
  • Right to data portability: receive your data in a structured format
  • Right to object: object to the processing of your data (Article 21)
  • Right to restriction: restrict the processing of your data (Article 18)
  • Right to withdraw consent: unsubscribe at any time in one click

Third-party processors

For the sake of transparency, here is the complete list of third-party services used by this site:

  • Vercel (hosting) — Hosts the website. Region: Paris (CDG1). Processes server logs (IP addresses, HTTP headers). No personal data is stored beyond temporary technical logs.
  • Umami (analytics) — Privacy-friendly traffic measurement. No cookies, no personal data collected, no cross-site tracking. EU cloud hosting.
  • Resend (email) — Sends confirmation emails and weekly digests. Processes subscriber email addresses. Based in the United States with GDPR compliance (DPA signed).
  • AppSignal (monitoring) — Monitors server errors and performance. No personal data collected, no cookies, exclusively server-side processing. Dutch company, EU hosting.

Legal basis: legitimate interest (Article 6.1.f GDPR) for Vercel, Umami and AppSignal; consent (Article 6.1.a) for Resend.

Transfers outside the EU: Resend (US) and Vercel (logs processed in the US) benefit from Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) and are certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (DPF). DPAs are automatically accepted with each service's terms of use.
